To demonstrate your “Compliance through Competence”, you must renew your Certification on a periodic
basis. A renewal or recertification application can be received up to 6 months prior to the expiry
of your certificate. Please be advised that it can take several weeks to process an application for
renewal or recertification (if the application is complete), so candidates are encouraged to submit
their documentation as early as possible to avoid any lapse.
CSWIP and BGAS-CSWIP schemes require the submission of verified evidence (signed log sheets) of work
activities covering the certification period; as well as details of Continuous Professional
Development (CPD). The easiest way to provide evidence of your work experience and your CPD
activities is to update your logbook regularly. An easy way to gain access to CPD activities is to
become a member of The Welding Institute.
